HAZWOPER Operations Level Refresher E-learning

This HAZWOPER Operations Level course is for all employees who may play an active role in emergency response to hazardous substance release or who are working on a site where they are exposed to hazardous substances, health hazards, or safety hazards. In this training, learners will receive an overview of the requirements of OSHA’s HAZWOPER standard, including rights and responsibilities, as well as up-to-date content designed to address the training requirements for first responder awareness and first responder operations level, as defined in OSHA’s standard for Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (29 CFR 1910.120).

This HAZWOPER E-Learning is packed with information to enhance the employee’s basic hazard and risk assessment capabilities regarding hazardous substances or hazardous waste, and it is best paired with location-specific on-the-job learning. Learners will review related terminology and regulatory requirements, chemical and infectious disease hazards, and the mitigations for risk, such as Hazard Communication methods and selecting and using the correct personal protective equipment. Learners will also gain an understanding of relevant standard operating and termination procedures and will be briefed on how to use the Emergency Response Guidebook, how to perform basic control, containment and/or confinement operations, and how to implement basic decontamination procedures. This course concludes with a presentation of BSEE Marine Trash and Debris training video, which not only provides further understanding about proper waste management for all in the workforce, but it also may satisfy additional training requirements for some offshore personnel. Upon completion of the training modules, learners will complete a knowledge assessment. Those who complete this training may also be required to be evaluated by their employer to ensure understanding of the information provided.
