IADC RigPass E-learning

IADC incident statistics reveal that rig employees on the job less than 6 months are the most likely to suffer an accident. But experienced hands are at risk, as well with the potential to become complacent or cut corners to speed work. IADC RigPass is a course designed for Short Service Employees who are new to the rig environment, but this RigPass eLearning course can also benefit seasoned employees, site supervisors, safety trainers, inspectors, and EHS consultants. This E-Learning RigPass course is a standardized safety orientation program for all oil and gas operations, whether onshore or offshore, which has been reviewed and evaluated by IADC’s team of independent technical experts. It is self-paced for the average person to complete in 8 hours.

This online RigPass training conforms to curriculum requirements of the International Association of Drilling Contractors’ RigPass accreditation program, with a core curriculum that includes modules such as General Safety, Personal Protection Equipment, Hazard Communication, Occupational Health, Specialized Work Procedures, Fire Safety, Materials Handling, Health and First Aid, Rig & Platform Environment, and Wellsite Environmental Protection. Additional modules in this RigPass eLearning include an Onshore Supplement, with emphasis on the oil and gas value chain, excavation, and the hazards of pits and ponds, and an Offshore Supplement, which outlines helicopter transportation hazards, offshore life expectations, water safety and marine debris responsibilities. Upon completion of the training modules, learners will complete a knowledge assessment. Those who complete this training may also be required to be evaluated by their employer to ensure understanding of the information provided.
