- Performing chest compressions and rescue breaths
- Using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) effectively
- Managing cardiac arrest and choking incidents
- Conducting primary and secondary assessments
- Controlling bleeding and managing shock
- Treating head, neck, or back injuries
- Caring for swollen, painful, or deformed limbs, and treating burns and minor injuries
Additionally, participants will gain insights into dealing with altered mental status, breathing difficulties, severe chest pain, and poisoning. The course prepares them to handle heat and cold emergencies efficiently. A significant portion is dedicated to understanding and implementing OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens standards, ensuring participants are well-versed in exposure control plans, housekeeping practices, and methods to mitigate the risks of transmitting bloodborne pathogens.
Participants will also learn about various oxygen delivery systems, including the use of pulse oximetry, and other critical considerations for administering oxygen. The course concludes with a comprehensive review and assessment to ensure all participants have mastered the necessary skills and knowledge.
