Aerial Lift Operator Safety

FMTC M&A Safety’s Aerial Lift Operator Safety course is designed to equip delegates with the essential skills needed to work safely on or around aerial lifts. Course Outline

About Aerial Lifts:

• Overview of general uses and training requirements.
• Introduction to general safety guidelines for safe operations.

Safe Operations:

• Pre-operational and daily inspection criteria.
• Proper use of operator controls and ground controls.
• Safe work practices, including elevating a platform and using leveling jacks.

Hazards and Prevention:

• Identification and prevention of various hazards, including electrical hazards, fall hazards, and tip-over hazards.
• Understanding causes of death from aerial lifts and statistical analysis.

Fall Protection:

• Requirements and components of a personal fall arrest system.
• Practical sessions to demonstrate proper fall protection techniques.

Practical Session:

• Hands-on training using equipment similar to what delegates will operate.
• Verification of proper PPE selection, equipment inspection, and hazard identification.
• Practice in reacting to unusual or emergency situations and safe access/egress from aerial lifts.

Training Center Provided Material:

• Course materials, PPE, and reference documents in accordance with OSHA regulations.

Successful Course Completion:

• Delegates must achieve a minimum score of 75% in written assessments.
• Practical sessions are mandatory for successful completion.
