T-HUET with CA-EBS (5194)

Since June 2019, FMTC is offering the combined OPITO THUET with CA-EBS (in-water) courses. The traditional OPITO THUET course will be replaced by the OPITO THUET with CA-EBS and will comply with the updated GOM Operator requirements.

The T-HUET with CA-EBS (5194) (Tropical Helicopter Underwater Escape Training with CA-EBS) is meant for those who have to travel by helicopter towards and from offshore installations. After successful completion of the training an OPITO approved T-HUET certificate will be issued. The T-HUET is a standard part of the OPITO approved T-BOSIET and T-FOET.

With regard to the CA-EBS standard coming to the US Gulf of Mexico (effective 1 June, 2019), we offer this one-day OPITO T-HUET with CA-EBS (5194) course for only $325.00.

During the theory section of the OPITO T-HUET with CA-EBS (Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System – CA-EBS (delivered in conjunction with T-HUET)) the delegate is informed about the security aspects on board of a helicopter, as well as the potential hazards and emergencies that can occur during transport by helicopter. Subsequently, various emergency situations will be rehearsed in the training pool of FMTC – by means of the trainings helicopter.

CA-EBS

For travelling by helicopter to and from offshore installations you will also need a CA-EBS certificate.

Aim of the OPITO approved CA-EBS training is to ensure that the delegate gains the required knowledge and understanding of the fundamental differences between a re-breather and compressed air systems, the use of the CA-EBS in helicopter emergency situations and the hazards associated with the use of the CA-EBS. During the course the delegates learn to understand the CA- EBS and how to use the system in a safe and responsible way.

If the delegate is deemed medically unfit by the doctor, they can still participate in the course. However, the practical exercises for Sea Survival and HUET will be conducted in the swimming pool, while the CA-EBS assessments will be conducted on dry land.
