Day 1 – Risk Awareness and Management
The course starts with Risk Awareness and Management, focusing on human elements, live/dead well concepts, pre-job communication, safety margins, and emergency procedures. It delves into pressure control equipment, barrier considerations, and the principles and calculations related to well control.
Day 2 – Completion and Workover Fluids
The second day explores completion and workover fluids, their functions, properties, and measuring techniques. It provides a detailed overview of wellbore equipment, including Christmas Trees, Blowout Preventer Stacks, Chokes, and fluid measuring devices. Additionally, the session covers coiled tubing string integrity, operational hazards, and completion equipment.
Day 3 – Procedures and Well Monitoring
The focus shifts to procedures for set/check alarm limits, securing the well, and contingency procedures. Participants learn about well monitoring during operations and maintaining records. Operational considerations, rigging up, and connection between coiled tubing equipment and the well are thoroughly covered.
Day 4 – Well Control Techniques and Safety Systems
The final day emphasizes well control techniques, addressing live and dead well interventions, bulkheading, lube and bleed, circulation, and handling special situations. Safety systems and emergency shutdown devices (ESDs) are highlighted, emphasizing their importance in coiled tubing operations.
Complications and Solutions
The training also equips participants to handle complications such as collapsed coiled tubing, pressure differentials, and organizing well control operations. Roles and responsibilities of personnel, pre-recorded information, and planned responses to anticipated scenarios are crucial elements covered in the program.
