Course Overview

Delivered through a blend of Power Point© presentations, lectures, audio-video aids, and practical exercises, the course follows the Emergency Medical Responder: First of Scene, 11th Ed. textbook. Successful completion requires a minimum score of 70% or better on the final exam, along with the successful completion of the psychomotor exam.

Day 1: Strengthening Foundations Explore soft-tissue injuries, shock, muscle and bone injuries, head and spine injuries, chest and abdominal emergencies, general safety, and mild cognitive impairment through engaging lectures. Practice trauma assessment skills and reinforce those learned from the previous day.

Day 2: Specialized Focus Dive into lectures on pregnancy and childbirth, pediatrics, geriatrics (including dementia and Alzheimer’s). Hone trauma assessment skills and practice all acquired skills. Conclude with a comprehensive final review, followed by a question-and-answer session.

Final Assessment The culmination of your training includes a Final Exam and a Psychomotor Exam to ensure your readiness to respond effectively in emergency situations.
