The STCW Proficiency in Survival Craft Refresher training is the refresher course of the STCW Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats, Other Than Fast Rescue Boats.

After five years, it is time to refresh the memory of the participant. The training is intended for anyone who is in possession of an almost expiring STCW Proficiency in Survival Craft certificate.

During the course STCW Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats Refresher the participant refreshes his understanding of how to properly react to emergency situations on and off boats. When completing the refresher PSCRB the course participant should be able to take charge in preparing and handling the rescue boats.

Prior to enrolling in this course one needs to have a valid maritime medical certificate, STCW Basic Safety Training certificate (< 5 year old) and an almost expiring STCW Proficiency in Survival Craft certificate (< 5 year old).

Course Content:

• The inspection and preparation of the rescue boat
• Taking command on board during evacuation and the launch of the rescue boat
• Handling the rescue boat in open water
• Communicate at sea
• Surviving at sea
• Providing first aid to survivors
• Rescue near-drowning people
