NOGEPA 0.5C CA-EBS standard in the NOGEPA 0.5 & 0.4

25 June 2020

From July 1, 2020, the NOGEPA 0.5C will expire as an independent module. As of that date, the newest NOGEPA standard will come into effect.

NOGEPA 0.4 and NOGEPA 0.5 including CA-EBS

From July 1, 2020, the content of the NOGEPA 0.5C CA-EBS training will be covered in the NOGEPA 0.4, NOGEPA 0.5A and NOGEPA 0.5B. During these training sessions, not only will the CA-EBS be taught, but the EBS will also continue to be used in the HUET.

This makes it possible to work worldwide with the NOGEPA certificates, including in places where CA-EBS is not used.

CA-EBS in water

Practicing the CA-EBS in shallow water will become a standard part of the training for delegates who have been declared medically fit for in water CA-EBS. Delegates without this fitness statement on their Offshore medical certificate will instead complete a dry training, without negatively affecting their certification. This means that certificates of delegates who have practiced the CA-EBS in the water are the same as those of delegates who have practiced the CA-EBS on dry land.

The CA-EBS will not be practiced during the HUET exercises, but in water no deeper than 0.5 meters.

Which NOGEPA training do you need to book?

Did you previously book the NOGEPA 0.5A / B + 0.5C? Then this is no longer necessary. From July 1, 2020 you only need to book the NOGEPA 0.5A or NOGEPA 0.5B. The certificates of the NOGEPA 0.4, NOGEPA 0.5A and NOGEPA 0.5B have been adjusted so that it is clear that the CA-EBS has been completed by the delegates.
