GWO BTTM and BTTB

This combined GWO BTT Mechanical with BTTB – Bolt Tightening two day course will give you the knowledge and skills to carry out basic mechanical tasks (under supervision), and an overview of the bolt tightening processes used specific to wind turbine environments using dynamic practical scenario based training. Combining knowledge of both modules, using safe working procedures and the correct PPE, you will gain an overview of mechanical systems, and the techniques associated with energised bolt tightening as applied in the wind turbine environment, together with associated safety principles.

• Requirements:No prerequisites, but some practical, mechanical or electrical maintenance background is useful.
  Medically fit and capable of fully participating.
  Should have or create a personal delegate profile in WINDA and provide own WINDA ID.
  Should be able to read and write documentation/instructions, and it is an advantage to be able to read, speak and write English.
  

Course Content

In the BTT Mechanical Module (BTTM) you will gain an overview of the practical aspects of mechanical operations and related hazards and safety principles in wind turbine operations. This includes types of PPE and use of manual tightening and measuring tools, as well as the principles of bolted and welded connections; gearbox functions, braking and Yaw systems, and cooling and lubrication systems.

In the BTT Bolt Tightening Module (BTTB), you will learn more about the practical aspects of energy powered bolt tightening, preparing you for working in both on and offshore in wind power operations. It will also provide the ability to act independently to safely plan, carry out and complete generic bolt torquing and tensioning tasks to specification using energy powered equipment.
