VCA courses

Do you work in construction, in a port or in another hazardous environment? In most cases it is required to have a VCA certificate. VCA is the Dutch equivalent for the Safety Certificate for Contractors (SCC) and stands for Safety, Health and Milieu Checklist Contractors. To be able to obtain a VCA certificate you have to take a VCA course first. This course teaches you how to recognize unsafe situations and how to react when these situations occur. At FMTC we offer two different VCA courses: VCA Basic and VCA VOL.

The VCA Basic course is meant for employees who work in a hazardous workplace and have operational tasks. This course teaches you all the core principles about safety at work. The VCA VOL course is for people with a leadership position in a hazardous workplace or for freelancers. VOL stands for Safety for Operational Executives. As an executive you not only have to watch out for your own safety, but also for the safety of your employees. That´s why the learning material of the VCA VOL course elaborates more on safety at work than the basic course.
When unsafe situations occur at the workplace, it is crucial to know how to handle. Furthermore it is important to know how to recognize unsafe situations. The VCA courses teach you how to respond to such situations.

VCA safety courses

The VCA safety courses will be held in class, but it is also possible to choose the E-learning course. With the classroom lessons you are going to work in a group on theoretical assignments. When you choose the E-learning program you are going to practice by yourself. This means having the advantage of learning on your own time at your own speed. The courses only contain theoretical assignments. There will be no practical training. After you complete the VCA course, you need to take an exam. After successfully completing the exam you will get a VCA certificate.
