The OPITO Tropical Further Offshore Emergency Training with Emergency Breathing System (T-FOET with EBS) (5917) is designed for personnel working in the offshore oil and gas industry who need to renew their offshore safety and emergency response training and who will be supplied with an Emergency Breathing System (EBS) during offshore helicopter travel.

The course gives participants the opportunity to practise and demonstrate emergency response skills that cannot normally be practised during offshore drills and exercises. It covers helicopter emergency response and escape, the use of EBS, firefighting and self-rescue, and emergency first aid.

The OPITO Tropical FOET with EBS is a refresher course for personnel who have previously completed an applicable OPITO BOSIET or FOET programme.

During the training, participants refresh and demonstrate their ability to use an Emergency Breathing System correctly and respond to helicopter emergency situations, with particular attention to escaping from a helicopter following ditching.
The training also refreshes practical firefighting, self-rescue and emergency first aid skills. Participants practise the use of portable fire extinguishers, escape techniques in reduced and completely obscured visibility, and immediate first aid response.

The attached OPITO standard states that participants must hold a valid, in-date certificate. It does not specify an exception or renewal window for expired certificates. If your certificate has expired, contact FMTC before booking so your eligibility can be checked.

The attached OPITO standard confirms that the certificate is valid for 4 years, but it does not specify a separate early-renewal window.

The standard requires appropriate PPE to be available for the training, but it does not specify which items the participant must personally bring. The applicable requirements should therefore be communicated in the FMTC booking confirmation.
