The PSSR course is designed for any applicant who has successfully completed the Personal Safety & Social Responsibilities training. It satisfies the standards of competence required by 46 CFR 11.302(a)(4) and 12.602(a)(4), as well as the STCW Code Section A-VI/1 and Table A-VI/1-4, as amended in 2010 meeting the National Assessment Guidelines from NVIC 08-14(Ch-1) Tasks 5.1.A through 9.1.A inclusive; NVICs 12-14 (Ch-3) and 02-18 Task 19.4; and NVIC 13-14 (Ch-2) Task 13.4.A. This course is essential for all seafarers engaged in any capacity on board a ship with designated safety or pollution prevention duties.

The primary goal of the PSSR course is to enhance maritime safety by instilling basic knowledge and skills relevant to safety procedures and accident prevention. Participants will gain a thorough understanding of various safety protocols and how to effectively implement them in their daily work routines. By the end of the course, mariners will be well-prepared to handle emergency situations, prevent maritime pollution, and maintain good human relationships on board.
