Red Cross European certified First Aid course in class (12 hours)

With the Basic First Aid Course of the Red Cross you will learn all the basic principles that are important for providing First Aid. A core element of this 12h-First Aid course is bringing a victim to safety, evaluating the condition of the victim and alarming the emergency services. This course is held in classroom lessons. You will be working in a group on theoretical and practical assignments. Through this way you are prepared for real life situations.

This basic First Aid course will take 1,5 day. After completing the course you get a European certified Red Cross certificate. This certificate is valid for 2 years. You also can take the First Aid course book home with you. Every participator has to sign up individually.

Course content:

The following aspect will be covered during the basic First Aid course:

• Cardiac arrest: providing resuscitation and usage of a Automatic External Defibrillator (AED)
• Unconsciousness
• Choking
• Wounds
• Bleeding
• Head injuries
• Poisoning
• Chest pains
• A stroke
• Injuries on the bones, muscles and joints

After completing this course you know how to handle when accidents like these occur. The lessons are provided based on the Red Cross guidelines. By learning the theory you will get background information and by executing assignments you will bring this theory into practice. An example of one of those assignments is practicing with using an AED and learning how to perform resuscitation with help of a resuscitation dummy. With these practices you know how to act adequate when a situation like that occurs.
