Our Gas Tester Competent Person course is designed to provide participants with the essential knowledge and practical skills needed to perform gas testing safely and effectively. This training is ideal for those who are responsible for atmospheric testing in confined spaces or potentially hazardous environments. Through a combination of engaging learning methods, we ensure that every delegate gains a thorough understanding of the criteria defining confined spaces and the hazards associated with oxygen-deficient, toxic, or flammable atmospheres.
Participants will learn how to conduct suitable and sufficient risk assessments, reference the latest regulatory requirements for gas testing, and select, use, and maintain appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and respiratory protective equipment (RPE). The course also covers the strengths and limitations of different gas detection equipment, ensuring delegates are well-prepared to calibrate instruments, select the right detection tools, perform gas tests in the correct sequence, and accurately interpret and document results.
Our training is structured to provide a dynamic and interactive learning experience, ensuring that all delegates leave with the competence and confidence required to fulfill the role of a gas tester in a variety of operational settings. Please note that all course content is delivered in accordance with current industry standards and best practices.
