The GWO Basic Safety Training onshore is meant for people who work in the wind industry. During this course the delegates learn which risks and dangers could appear when working in the wind industry. They will also learn how to act in case of an emergency.
Other skills that will be developed during this course is how to provide First Aid, how to save themselves and others and how to deal with fires. By learning this the delegates will know how to act in such situations. By practicing emergency situations in real life the delegates will be prepared in a realistic way. The onshore GWO Basic Safety Training is different than the offshore version. This course only focusses on working in the onshore wind industry, like in an onshore wind turbine for example.

More information about GWO Basic Safety Training (onshore)
The GWO Basic Safety Training onshore consists of 4 modules that all have a theoretical part and a practical part. The learned theory will later be applied into practice. At the Working at Height module for example delegates are actually going to a platform at 16 meter high.
Before delegates are aloud to work in a wind turbine, they have to complete the onshore GWO Basic Safety Training first. The modules that are being covered during the course could also be taken separately: GWO Working at Height, GWO First Aid, GWO Fire Awareness and GWO Manual Handling.
Like discussed before, the course consists of the following content:
- Working at Height
- First Aid
- Manual Handling
- Fire Awareness
Because this is the onshore version of the GWO Basic Safety Training, the module GWO Sea Survival will not be covered during this course.
