COURSE CONTENT
- First Aid
- Perform appropriate call for help in case of a first aid incident in the wind industry.
- Act independently to ensure personal safety during the management of a first aid incident to minimise the risk of exposure to blood-borne and other potential pathogens.
- Perform an assessment of a person using primary survey (CABC approach) and a secondary head-to-toe examination.
- Perform appropriate first aid treatment on catastrophic external bleeding using relevant equipment.
- Perform placement of an unresponsive person into the recovery position.
- Perform CPR (in accordance with national guidelines).
- Perform resuscitation using an AED.
- Take responsibility for managing first aid incidents with the correct approach and assessments made in a WTG environment.

- Manual Handling
- Describe the TILE principle and how to apply them in manual handling situations.
- Take initiative to warm up prior to daily physical work tasks.
- Take initiative to mitigate the risk of musculoskeletal injuries by applying TILE principle, safe work procedures and using relevant aids when working over shoulder heights.
- Take initiative to mitigate the risk of musculoskeletal injuries by applying TILE principle, safe work procedures and aids when pushing and pulling loads.

- Fire Awareness
- Perform a pre-use inspection of firefighting equipment.

- Solve how to act according to the continency plans in a WTG.
- Solve how to act in a given situation based on an assessment of the fire and select the right extinguishing media according to the fire classes.
- Apply fire blanket efficiently and safely.
- Act independently to escape from a smoke-filled environment in the event of an unmanageable fire.
- Take responsibility for the evacuation of personnel and ensure all are safely accounted for in the event of an unmanageable fire.
- Working at Height
- Perform pre-use inspection of the PFPE and equip themselves with appropriate PFPE.
- Take responsibility for buddy-checks as a precaution against improper use of PFPE and risk of dropped objects.
- Take responsibility for securing tools, equipment, accessories, minor components, items, and parts by adequately tethering to prevent dropped objects.
- Perform the appropriate use of different types of guided type fall arresters (e.g. rail, cable) and SRL while showing awareness of fall factors.
- Act independently in using the principle of selecting anchor points which reduce the fall factor to as low as possible.

- Describe safe behavior during approach, crossing, and retreat phases of W2W transfers.

- Act independently and take responsibility to enter the water from a WTG transition piece in a controlled manner.
