Our GWO Working at Heights course is specifically designed for professionals in the wind industry who need to work safely at heights. This training, developed by the Global Wind Organisation, focuses on promoting positive safety behaviors and equipping participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to manage the unique risks associated with working on wind turbine generators. The course is suitable for new participants and particapants whose current certifcate has expired. This module is also part of the GWO Basic Safety training.
Upon successful completion of the course, delegates receive a GWO-approved Working at Heights certificate, which remains valid for two years. To maintain certification, participants must refresh the training before their certificate expires otherwise they need to complete
the basic training again.GWO does not offer dispensation for expired certificates. The course covers essential topics such as the identification and use of personal protective equipment (PPE), hazard recognition, and the implementation of safe working procedures, including basic rescue techniques relevant to wind turbine environments.
Throughout the training, delegates gain practical experience in inspecting, fitting, and using PPE, as well as in handling rescue situations and evacuation procedures. The curriculum is aligned with current national and regional legislation, ensuring that participants are up to date with the latest safety standards. This comprehensive approach helps ensure that everyone working at height in the wind industry is well-prepared to handle the challenges of their role safely and effectively.
If your current GWO Working at Heights certificate is still valid, you can follow the refresher course instead. See more details here: GWO Working at Heights Refresher (E-learning + Practical).
