STCW Peak? Book Early to Avoid Full Classes and Stress
15 April 2025Every summer and winter, we see an STCW peak.
During these times, many maritime professionals try to renew their STCW certificates at the same time. The result? Fully booked courses, long waiting lists, and in some cases, the risk of not being able to work temporarily. At FMTC Safety, we see this surge every year – and we’re here to help you avoid it.
Book your STCW training in time
It sounds obvious, but in practice, many people book too late. We get it – work, travel, and family keep you busy. But early planning can save you a lot of stress. By booking well before your certificate’s expiration date, you avoid peak season and have more choice in training dates and locations.
What happens if you’re too late?
In the worst-case scenario, your certificate may expire before you can attend a new training. This could directly impact your ability to work. Employers require valid certificates – no valid cert, no boarding. Book early to ensure your schedule stays intact.
FMTC anticipates peak demand
We add extra training sessions and extend our opening hours whenever possible. Still, the rule is: first come, first served. Reserving your spot in advance means you’re not stuck relying on last-minute options.
In short: don’t wait until the last minute.
Plan your STCW training today and sail smoothly through the busy season. Need help with planning? Feel free to contact us.
