The OPITO FOET with CA-EBS (5858) stands for Further Offshore Emergency Training with Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System and is designed for offshore oil and gas personnel who travel by helicopter and are issued with CA-EBS. This course is intended for workers renewing their offshore safety certification, including those required to demonstrate helicopter escape, firefighting, self-rescue, and basic first aid skills in line with industry standards. Be aware, this course includes training exclusively with the CA-EBS (Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System) and does not cover the EBS (Emergency Breathing System) type. Our OPITO FOET with CA-EBS (5850) course is designed to meet the ongoing offshore safety and emergency response training requirements for personnel in the offshore oil and gas industry. This training is essential for those who are supplied with a compressed air emergency breathing system (CA-EBS) during offshore helicopter travel. The course provides participants with the opportunity to practice and demonstrate emergency response skills that cannot be fully covered during regular offshore drills or exercises, ensuring that all personnel are prepared for real-life emergencies.
The OPITO FOET with CA-EBS (5850) focuses on practical training in a simulated environment, allowing learners to use safety equipment and follow the correct procedures during helicopter emergencies, particularly in scenarios involving helicopter ditching and escape. In addition, the course covers the effective use of basic firefighting equipment, self-rescue techniques in low or zero visibility situations such as smoke-filled areas, and essential first aid skills. This comprehensive approach ensures that participants are well-equipped to respond to a range of emergency situations offshore.
Upon successful completion, participants receive certification that is valid for four years. It is important to note that if the expiry date on a participant’s previous certificate falls within three months prior to the course enrolment date, the new certificate’s validity will align with the expiry date of the existing certificate, unless otherwise specified by the Duty Holder, Asset Owner, or Operator. This ensures seamless compliance with industry requirements and helps maintain the highest standards of offshore safety.
