Our OPITO FOET with EBS (5858) + CA-EBS (5904) course is designed to meet the further offshore safety and emergency response training requirements for personnel who are new to or returning to the offshore oil and gas industry. This training is essential for anyone who will be supplied with a rebreather emergency breathing system during offshore helicopter travel. The course provides a valuable opportunity for learners to practise and demonstrate critical emergency response skills that cannot be safely or effectively practised during regular offshore drills or exercises.
During the OPITO FOET with EBS (5858) + CA-EBS (5904) course, participants will gain hands-on experience in using safety equipment, following emergency procedures, and responding to helicopter emergencies, with a particular focus on escaping from a helicopter after ditching. The training also covers the effective use of basic firefighting equipment, self-rescue techniques in low and zero visibility environments, and the application of basic first aid. Our course is suitable for offshore workers who require certification to travel by helicopter and use EBS and CA-EBS systems.
Upon successful completion, participants receive certification that is valid for four years. Please note that if the expiry date on a learner’s previous certificate falls within three months prior to the course enrolment date, the new certificate’s validity will correspond with the expiry date of the existing certificate unless otherwise specified by the Duty Holder, Asset Owner, or Operator.
