Our OPITO FOET with EBS (5858) course is designed to meet the further offshore safety and emergency response training requirements for personnel who are new to or returning to the offshore oil and gas industry. This training is essential for anyone who will be supplied with a rebreather emergency breathing system (EBS) during offshore helicopter travel. The course provides a valuable opportunity for participants to practise and demonstrate critical emergency response skills that cannot be fully covered during regular offshore drills or exercises.
The OPITO FOET with EBS (5858) course focuses on preparing learners to handle helicopter emergencies, particularly those involving ditching and escape scenarios. Participants will gain hands-on experience with safety equipment and emergency procedures in a simulated environment, ensuring they are ready to respond effectively in real-life situations. The training also covers the use of basic firefighting equipment, self-rescue techniques in challenging conditions such as smoke-filled areas, and essential first aid skills.
Upon successful completion, participants receive certification that is valid for four years. It is important to note that if a learner’s previous certificate is set to expire within three months prior to the course enrolment date, the new certificate will align with the expiry date of the existing or previous certificate unless otherwise specified by the Duty Holder, Asset Owner, or Operator. This ensures compliance with industry standards and maintains the highest level of safety for offshore personnel.
