Our OPITO BOSIET with EBS (5700) + CA-EBS (5904) course provides comprehensive safety training for anyone seeking to work in the offshore oil and gas industry worldwide. This combined program covers both the Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET) and the Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System (CA-EBS), both of which are OPITO approved. The training is mandatory for all personnel working offshore and is designed to introduce delegates to the specific safety issues and emergency response procedures relevant to offshore installations. The course also equips participants with essential knowledge and practical skills for safe helicopter travel to and from offshore locations.

The BOSIET component includes practical exercises in fire prevention, work safety procedures, helicopter safety including Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET), basic medical knowledge, and survival at sea. Upon successful completion, participants receive an OPITO approved BOSIET certificate, which remains valid for four years. To maintain certification, the Further Offshore Emergency Training (FOET) refresher course is required before the BOSIET certificate expires. FAQ

OPITO stands for Offshore Petroleum Industry Training Organisation. BOSIET stands for Basic Offshore Safety Induction & Emergency Training. BOSIET is the standard basic training for the offshore oil and gas industry all over the globe. CA-EBS stands for Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System, which is practiced with in this training.

The training consists of a multitude of modules, including helicopter safety, sea survival and First Aid, as well as a module on the Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System.

The OPITO BOSIET with EBS + CA-EBS consists of a theoretical and practical part.

OPITO BOSIET will allow the delegate to understand the dangers and risks in the offshore oil and gas industry and how to act accordingly in emergency situations. The delegate will also learn how to save themselves, provide First Aid and fight fires.

At successful completion of the course, the delegate receives an OPITO BOSIET (5700) certificate, as well as an CA-EBS certificate (5904) and Escape Shute for the Norwegian Sector (OLF).

OPITO BOSIET: The certificate is valid for 4 years. After that, you must take the OPITO FOET course (a one-day refresher course), so the delegate stays sharp and is made aware of new developments.

CA-EBS: The certificate will always remain valid.

When your OPITO BOSIET certificate is expired you have to do the BOSIET course again. If this happened we recommend you to do the E-BOSIET course. This is a one day practical course at our training centre. You can do the theoretical part online.

Yes, in order to work offshore, OPITO BOSIET or NOGEPA 0.5 basic Offshore Safety are the minimum. CA-EBS is mandatory for all helicopter flights in the UK.
