COURSE CERTIFIED BY

The OPITO BOSIET with EBS (5700) stands for Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training with Emergency Breathing System, designed for personnel new or returning to the offshore oil and gas industry who need certification for safe helicopter transfers and emergency response procedures when traveling to offshore installations. This training is essential for offshore staff, particularly those required to use an Emergency Breathing System during helicopter flights. This course is particularly important for offshore staff who may be required to use an Emergency Breathing System (EBS) during helicopter flights. Please note that the OPITO BOSIET with EBS (5700) does not include the additional OPITO CA-EBS (5902) module, which is commonly required for operations in certain regions, such as the North Sea.

The OPITO BOSIET with EBS (5700) is an essential training course for anyone new or returning to the offshore oil and gas industry. This internationally recognized program is designed to equip participants with the fundamental safety knowledge and practical emergency response skills required for offshore work, particularly for those traveling to and from installations by helicopter. The course is OPITO-approved and meets the latest industry standards, ensuring that all delegates are prepared for the unique challenges of offshore environments.
Our training covers a wide range of safety protocols, including helicopter safety, emergency evacuation, fire response, first aid, and sea survival. A key component of the course is the use of the Emergency Breathing System (EBS), which is practiced during simulated underwater escape exercises. This hands-on approach ensures that participants are confident and competent in using EBS equipment. It is important to note that many helicopter operators now require personnel to hold both the BOSIET with EBS and a separate CA-EBS certificate for full compliance.
Upon successful completion of the OPITO BOSIET with EBS, participants receive a certificate that is valid for four years. To maintain certification, delegates must complete the Further Offshore Emergency Training (FOET) refresher course before their current certificate expires. During the BOSIET course, each participant is assigned a unique Vantage number, which serves as their OPITO registration ID and is used to track training records globally. The training center is responsible for creating and registering this number for first-time delegates, and it remains linked to all future OPITO training, including refresher courses.
The course is suitable for anyone who will be supplied with a rebreather emergency breathing system during offshore helicopter travel. There are no prerequisites mentioned, but participants should be aware of the increasing requirement for CA-EBS certification depending on their region and employer. Our training ensures that all delegates meet the latest safety standards and are fully prepared for offshore assignments.
