Our GWO Sea Survival Refresher course is specifically designed for professionals working in the offshore wind turbine industry who need to renew their certification and maintain a high standard of safety awareness. This refresher training ensures that participants remain up to date with the latest survival techniques, safe transfer procedures, and emergency response protocols required for offshore operations. The course focuses on enhancing the knowledge and practical skills necessary to act safely and take appropriate preventive measures during all offshore activities, including transfers between land, vessels, and wind turbine generators.
Participants will revisit essential topics such as the dangers and symptoms of hypothermia and drowning, the correct use of life-saving appliances, personal protective equipment, and personal fall protection equipment. The training also covers safe transfer procedures and emergency protocols, equipping attendees to manage both routine and emergency situations in the offshore wind environment. The GWO Sea Survival Refresher course is suitable for both new and experienced personnel who must comply with industry standards for offshore safety.
This course meets the requirements for ongoing employment in the offshore wind sector and supports the safe handling of emergency situations. All participants are expected to hold a valid GWO Sea Survival certificate prior to attending the refresher. The training is aligned with the Global Wind Organisation’s standards, ensuring international recognition and compliance within the wind energy industry.
GWO does not offer any dispensation; without a valid certificate, participants cannot attend refresher courses and must instead complete GWO Sea Survival again. The course content also includes the Boat Transfer module, which provides delegates with the necessary knowledge and practical skills for safe transfer between vessel and offshore structures.
