STCW Personal Safety & Social Responsibilities (PSSR)

This course provides students with a solid understanding of shipboard operations, safety procedures, and daily working practices. It is designed to help participants adjust to the maritime environment and confidently handle unexpected situations at sea. By introducing the fundamentals of ship structure, onboard routines, and safety culture, the course ensures a smooth transition from shore-based life to a seafaring career. Trainees will learn to comply with emergency procedures, prevent marine pollution, and follow safe working practices. They will also develop effective communication skills for shipboard duties and understand how to maintain positive working relationships on board. In addition, the course covers the importance of managing fatigue and taking necessary measures to ensure well-being at sea. Upon completion, participants will be better prepared to work responsibly and safely in a shipboard environment.
