he FMTC Personal Survival Techniques course is intended for personnel working in maritime, offshore, port, and other marine environments where emergency preparedness and survival at sea are essential. The course combines classroom instruction with realistic practical exercises in a controlled environment.
Participants learn about common maritime emergency situations, emergency procedures, survival principles, life-saving appliances, and survival craft. Practical exercises include the correct use of lifejackets and immersion suits, safe water entry, survival swimming techniques, boarding survival craft, and initial survival actions while awaiting rescue.
Throughout the training, emphasis is placed on personal safety, situational awareness, teamwork, and effective decision-making during emergency situations. Delegates are continuously assessed through instructor observation during both theoretical and practical activities.
Upon successful completion, participants receive an FMTC Personal Survival Techniques Certificate.
