Our NOGEPA 2.9B Helicopter Fire-Fighting training is designed as a recurrent course for those already holding a valid NOGEPA 2.9A Helicopter Fire-Fighting certificate. This course is specifically intended for personnel working on small offshore platforms where there are not enough staff members to form a dedicated fire-fighting team, and where helicopter fuel loading is not possible. In these environments, the Helicopter Landing Officer (HLO) or Helicopter Deck Assistant (HDA) are responsible for managing emergencies, making this training essential for their safety and preparedness.
During the NOGEPA 2.9B Helicopter Fire-Fighting training, participants refresh their knowledge and practical skills in fighting helicopter fires and conducting rescue operations. The training covers both theoretical and hands-on elements, including scenarios such as engine fires, cockpit fires, cabin fires, baggage compartment fires, and liquid fires resulting from fuel leaks. The latest NOGEPA Handbook is followed, which now includes a new module on the use of Breathing Apparatus. Please note that an offshore medical certificate with ERT and an additional medical certificate for wearing breathing apparatus are required to participate.
To maintain the validity of NOGEPA certificates, the refresher course can be attended within a three-month window before the current certificate expires, with the original expiry date preserved. Participants are required to bring a valid government-issued photographic ID, a valid offshore medical certificate (including the additional certificate for breathing apparatus), and a valid NOGEPA 2.9A or NOGEPA 2.9B certificate to the training centre.
