The OPITO MIST Further online course is designed for delegates who need to renew their MIST certification, which expires every four years. This refresher course updates learners on the potential hazards and control measures that may be encountered on offshore installations. It also reinforces the importance of personal responsibility for safety, helping to shape safe behaviours and attitudes towards co-workers, the installation, and the environment.
Learners must complete a declaration before the course begins to confirm previous offshore work experience. This must include details of their most recent offshore trip, including the asset name, location, and dates.

The course revisits the core safety elements of the offshore oil and gas industry within the UK offshore context. Each unit is structured to refresh essential knowledge and promote continued awareness of offshore safety responsibilities. Please note that OPITO MIST certification is valid for four years. To remain certified, you must renew your MIST or MIST Further certification before it expires. The OPITO MIST Further course serves as the refresher required for revalidation. If you are working offshore, you must also hold a valid and current offshore medical or health certificate before you are permitted to work offshore.
Before starting the course, you must have a valid identification document issued by a national authority, such as a passport, to verify your identity. You must also have any required verification documents ready, as listed under the prerequisites. These documents must be provided electronically in either JPG or PDF format for verification purposes.

When your course is confirmed you will be sent the validation code and password in order to log in.

On successful completion, you receive an OPITO MIST-Further certificate which is valid for 4 years. You will receive it via the via FMTC Portal.
All FMTC courses are delivered in English.
After successfully completing OPITO MIST Further (5311) E-learning, the participant will be awarded the following certificate(s): OPITO MIST Further.
