The GWO Manual Handling Refresher (E-learning + Practical) is designed for personnel working in or around wind turbines who are involved in physical tasks. This hybrid course is the official refresher for the GWO Manual Handling module, which is part of the Global Wind Organisation’s Basic Safety Training. According to GWO guidelines, this refresher must be completed every two years to maintain certification and ensure continued safety and compliance in the wind industry. The course combines an online e-learning component with practical training at a certified center, allowing participants to update their knowledge and skills in both theory and hands-on application.
During the online portion of the GWO Manual Handling Refresher, participants revisit essential topics such as personal safety, risk assessment, injury prevention, and the practical application of safe lifting techniques. The training emphasizes minimizing risks and fostering a safer working environment within wind turbines. Access to the e-learning platform is provided four weeks before the course start date, and immediate access is granted for bookings made within this period.
The Manual Handling module is one of the five core modules of the GWO Basic Safety Training (BST). For those seeking a broader refresher, we also offer the GWO Basic Safety Training Refresher, which includes the GWO Manual Handling Refresher E-learning along with the GWO Working at Heights Refresher, GWO First Aid Refresher, GWO Sea Survival E-learning Refresher and GWO Fire Awareness E-learning Refresher. If you are looking for an initial certification, please see our online GWO basic. Please note that a valid certificate is required to participate in any GWO refresher course.
