The aim of the CAA Offshore Radio Operators Certificate of Competence is to ensure the delegates gain the required knowledge and skills to operate a radio according to the standards of the Civil Aviation Authority and how to use it when communicating with helicopters on an offshore helideck. The course is designed to prepare the delegate to sit the CAA examination, which must be completed successfully in order to be awarded with the CAA Offshore Radio Operators Certificate of Competence. Throughout the course, the delegate will learn how to operate a radio and to use the correct terminology and phraseology when communicating with helicopters, to assist the work of HLO and HDA. This course includes both theoretical and practical exercises.
Once the CAA Offshore Radio Operators Certificate of Competence is issued, no revalidation is required.
