Our OPITO T-HUET (5195) course is designed to meet the offshore safety and emergency response training requirements for personnel who are new or returning to the energy industry in a tropical environment. This training is essential for anyone intending to travel to and from offshore installations and vessels by helicopter in tropical regions. The course provides comprehensive instruction on pre-flight and in-flight safety procedures, equipping participants with the fundamental emergency response knowledge and practical skills needed in the event of a helicopter emergency, with a particular emphasis on escaping from a helicopter after ditching and mastering sea survival techniques.
Participants will learn how to use safety equipment and follow established procedures during helicopter emergencies, focusing on effective escape methods and survival at sea. The training is delivered in a simulated environment to ensure that learners can confidently demonstrate their abilities in real-life scenarios. Upon successful completion, participants will receive certification that is valid for four years. It is important to note that if the expiry date on a previous certificate falls within 90 days prior to the course enrolment date, the new certificate’s expiry date will match the previous one unless otherwise specified by the Duty Holder, Asset Owner, or Operator.
