COURSE CERTIFIED BY
The OPITO HUET with EBS & with CA-EBS stands for Helicopter Underwater Emergency Escape Training with Rebreather Emergency Breathing System and Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System and is designed for personnel who travel by helicopter to and from offshore oil and gas installations or vessels. This training is essential for anyone working offshore who may be required to respond to helicopter emergencies, with a focus on safe escape following a ditching at sea. The HUET (Helicopter Underwater Escape Training) is delivered as a single module within the broader OPITO BOSIET course. Unlike other offshore safety courses, the OPITO HUET does not have a refresher option. This means it must be fully retaken every 4 years once the certification expires.

A valid offshore medical certificate, including a valid certificate of fitness to undertake shallow water CA-EBS training, is required (only applicable in NL and FR).
Our OPITO HUET with EBS & with CA-EBS course is specifically designed for personnel who travel by helicopter to and from offshore oil and gas installations and vessels. This OPITO-approved safety training provides the essential knowledge and practical skills needed to respond effectively in the event of a helicopter emergency, with a particular focus on underwater escape procedures using the Rebreather Emergency Breathing System (EBS) and Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System (CA-EBS). The training prepares participants to handle both pre-flight and in-flight requirements, ensuring they are equipped to manage emergency situations, especially following a helicopter ditching scenario.
The OPITO HUET course emphasizes hands-on experience in a simulated environment, allowing learners to demonstrate their ability to use safety equipment and follow established procedures during helicopter emergencies. The course is recognized throughout the offshore industry and is a critical requirement for anyone traveling by helicopter to offshore locations. Upon successful completion, participants receive an OPITO certificate that is valid for four years. If a learner’s previous certificate is set to expire within three months of the course enrolment date, the new certificate’s expiry will align with the existing certificate’s expiry date, unless otherwise specified by the Duty Holder, Asset Owner, or Operator.
Our training is delivered by experienced instructors and meets all current OPITO standards, ensuring participants are fully prepared for the unique challenges of offshore helicopter travel. Please note that all information regarding prerequisites, medical requirements, and certification validity is strictly adhered to as per OPITO guidelines.
