This training is essential for those who will be supplied with a rebreather emergency breathing system (EBS + CA-EBS) during offshore helicopter travel. Learners can complete the theoretical component of the BOSIET programme online before attending an OPITO-approved training centre for formal assessment and practical exercises.
The OPITO E-BOSIET (Digital Delivery) with EBS + CA-EBS introduces participants to the specific safety issues and regimes relevant to offshore installations, equipping them with the fundamental emergency response knowledge and practical skills required for safe helicopter travel to and from offshore installations. The course objectives include identifying offshore hazards and associated risks, understanding key offshore safety regulations, demonstrating the use of safety equipment in simulated helicopter emergencies, and practising sea survival, first aid, firefighting, and self-rescue techniques.
There are no entry requirements for this course, and access to the online learning platform is provided via Atlas Knowledge, with login details sent within 24 hours of booking. The certificate is valid for four years. Please note that all online modules must be completed before attending the practical day. The e-learning component takes approximately eight hours to finish, and successful completion is required before participating in practical sessions at the training centre.
