Our STCW BST & SA course is designed to meet the mandatory requirements set by the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW). This training is essential for all seafarers who are employed or engaged in any capacity on board seagoing vessels, including offshore support vessels, and who have designated safety or pollution-prevention duties. The course is fully approved by the national flagstate, ensuring compliance with international maritime regulations.
The STCW Basic Safety Training (BST) component provides seafarers with the fundamental skills needed to respond effectively to onboard emergencies and to survive at sea. It covers personal survival techniques, fire prevention and firefighting, elementary first aid, and personal safety and social responsibilities. This certification is valid for five years and requires refresher training unless the seafarer can demonstrate recent relevant sea service.
The STCW Security Awareness (SA) module is mandatory for all personnel working on vessels subject to the ISPS Code who do not have designated security duties. This includes deck and engine crew, catering and hotel staff, trainees, and any other personnel on board ISPS-compliant ships. The training provides the knowledge needed to recognize and respond to maritime security threats and is valid for life under STCW, though some flag states or companies may require periodic refreshers.
Participants are required to bring a valid passport or ID, a seafarer’s medical fitness certificate, swimwear, and a seafarer’s book if applicable. Upon successful completion of the course, internationally recognized STCW-compliant certificates are issued. Our training ensures that all seafarers are fully prepared for the safety and security challenges they may encounter at sea.
