Our NOGEPA 1.1A Helicopter Landing Officer / 2.9A Helicopter Fire Fighting (Combi) course is designed for professionals who need to act as a Helicopter Landing Officer (HLO) or Helicopter Deck Assistant (HDA) on offshore mining installations. This combination training includes both the NOGEPA 1.1A Helicopter Landing Officer and the NOGEPA 2.9A Helicopter Fire Fighting courses, providing participants with the comprehensive skills and knowledge required for safe and effective helicopter operations and emergency response offshore.
The training begins with the NOGEPA 1.1A Helicopter Landing Officer module, where participants learn both the theory and practical aspects of supervising helicopter operations, including normal and emergency procedures. Following this, the course continues with the NOGEPA 2.9A Helicopter Fire Fighting module, focusing on helicopter fire risks, fire control techniques, and rescue operations. Upon successful completion, participants receive two separate NOGEPA certificates, one for each module.
To enroll in the NOGEPA 1.1A Helicopter Landing Officer module, a valid NOGEPA 2.9 Helicopter Fire Fighting certificate is required, which is why these courses are often taken together. Participants must bring valid government-issued photographic identification and a valid offshore medical certificate to the training centre. For those needing to renew their certification, the refresher course is available as the NOGEPA 1.1B / 2.9B HLO / Helicopter Fire Fighting course.
