Our Boat Transfer training, also known as Boat Landing, is designed specifically for personnel working in the offshore wind industry, including those involved in the construction, maintenance, and servicing of offshore wind turbines and wind farms. This comprehensive course equips participants with the essential skills needed to safely transfer between a vessel and an offshore wind turbine, focusing on both theoretical knowledge and practical application. Training takes place in realistic simulations, often conducted in a swimming pool, where participants practice safe vessel-to-turbine transfers, boat landing procedures, and emergency responses such as man-overboard scenarios. The Boat Transfer training is a crucial component for anyone working in dynamic offshore environments, where safe and efficient vessel-to-structure transfers are critical under varying weather and sea conditions.
This training is closely related to the GWO Sea Survival and GWO Basic Safety Training (BST) courses. However, it is important to note that the Boat Transfer course does not result in a standalone GWO certificate. For those requiring official GWO certification, completion of the full GWO Sea Survival training is necessary. Our Boat Transfer course is certified by FMTC, with certification valid for two years and no refresher requirement or window period. Participants are required to bring a valid government-issued photo ID to the training.
