Basic Emergency Response Team Leader

The Basic Emergency Response Team Leader course is designed for employees who are responsible for leading an Emergency Response Unit during incidents or calamities. In accordance with workplace safety requirements, every designated team leader must complete this training to be able to guide, coordinate, and support their team effectively in emergency situations. This course provides both theoretical knowledge and practical experience to ensure team leaders are fully prepared for their role.

The training covers all essential aspects of leadership in emergency response, including regulations, communication, and resource management. Participants practice guiding and supporting their teams through realistic scenarios, ensuring they are able to make effective decisions under pressure. To maintain this qualification, certification must be renewed every year.

The Basic Emergency Response Team Leader course is mandatory for anyone appointed as an emergency response team leader and is essential to meet legal requirements while ensuring the safety and preparedness of the workplace.

Internationally referred to as the Basic Emergency Response Team Leader, this training is also known in Dutch as the “BHV Ploegleider” It is the standard qualification for employees who are officially appointed to lead an emergency response team and take responsibility for coordination during incidents.
