Our Introduction to Survival Craft course is designed to equip participants with essential knowledge and practical skills for survival at sea. This training focuses on personal flotation devices, the use of location aids, lifeboat equipment, and the critical phases of search and rescue operations. Delegates will gain hands-on experience with Totally Enclosed Motor Propelled Survival Craft (TEMPSC), learning the correct actions to take when mustering and boarding as a passenger during lifeboat launching operations.
Participants will develop the competence to operate a davit system for launching and recovering a lifeboat, ensuring readiness in emergency situations. The course also covers the identification and use of vital lifeboat equipment and supplies, such as location devices, first aid kits, pyrotechnics, and other survival systems. Emphasis is placed on the importance of navigation tools like the compass during abandonment or evacuation, as well as the correct technique for streaming a drogue or sea anchor to maintain stability in rough conditions.
Our training provides a comprehensive overview of survival craft, including regulatory requirements, lifeboat types, and the operational procedures necessary for safe facility abandonment, survival, and rescue. Delegates will leave with the confidence and practical ability to identify, operate, and maintain lifeboat equipment, ensuring safety and preparedness in offshore environments.
