This programme provides a comprehensive introduction to UAV drone operations, combining theoretical knowledge with practical application to ensure a well-rounded skill set.
Participants will develop a strong understanding of drone design, functionality, and core operational principles, including the use of FPV (First-Person View) systems, controllers, and communication frequencies. The training also covers key technical components such as ground control units, antennas, radio modules, and battery systems, enabling a deeper insight into how drones operate in various environments.
Through hands-on training and flight simulation, learners will build confidence in operating drones across different scenarios and conditions. This includes executing basic manoeuvres, navigating obstacles with precision, planning and flying routes based on topography, and working with ground control systems. Participants will also gain practical experience in setting up and calibrating equipment, as well as understanding concepts such as radio horizons and signal management.
In addition, the programme focuses on operational readiness by covering pre- and post-flight procedures, including equipment setup, maintenance, and documentation to ensure continued performance and safety.
Competency is assessed through both a written examination and a practical flight test, confirming the knowledge, skills, and confidence required to apply drone operations effectively in real-world environments.
