The STCW Medical Training Level 1 (EM1) course is designed to meet the requirements set by the STCW code following the Manila Amendments of 2010. All seafarers and professional yacht crew members are now required to hold valid STCW-approved certificates, making this training essential for anyone with a crew role on board. The STCW Enseignement Medical Niveau 1 is the recognized equivalent of the STCW Elementary First Aid Level 1, ensuring that participants are equipped with the necessary skills to respond effectively to medical emergencies at sea.
Our training provides both theoretical and practical knowledge, enabling participants to deliver first aid and perform essential initial actions in the event of an emergency. The course also prepares designated crew members to take responsibility for emergency medical care when there is no doctor on board. Trainees will learn how to activate and participate in level 1 telemedical consultations with the CCMM of Toulouse, as well as how to provide medical assistance at sea. In addition, the course covers the application of hygiene and prevention protocols on board, which are vital for maintaining a safe and healthy environment for all crew members.
Upon successful completion of the STCW Medical Training Level 1 (EM1), participants will receive an STCW-approved certificate. This certification is a mandatory requirement for seafarers and professional yacht crew, ensuring compliance with international maritime safety standards. The course is suitable for all crew members, regardless of previous medical training, and is designed to provide the essential skills needed to manage medical situations until professional help can be reached.
