The STCW CFBS + EM1 Refresher – Short Format is designed for French seafarers and professional yachtsmen who need to renew their STCW approved Basic Safety Training Certificate. In accordance with the Manila Amendments 2010 to the STCW code, all seafarers must hold a valid certificate that is revalidated every five years. Our training ensures that participants update their essential safety knowledge and skills, enabling them to work safely on board and respond effectively to emergencies.
This refresher course is intended for those who can provide evidence of prior sea survival and fire fighting training within the last five years, either on board or at their place of work. The STCW CFBS, or Certificat de Formation de Base à la Sécurité, is the French equivalent of the STCW Basic Safety Training and is mandatory for anyone seeking employment on a professional vessel in France. The course is recognized by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and DIRM in France.
During the STCW CFBS + EM1 Refresher – Short Format, participants will revisit crucial topics such as survival at sea, fire prevention and fighting, and elementary first aid. The training combines theoretical lessons with practical exercises, ensuring that all attendees are equipped to act safely and efficiently in a range of emergency situations. Upon successful completion, participants will have their certification revalidated for another five years, maintaining compliance with international and French maritime regulations.
