The STCW BST & AFF & PSCRB & PFRB Refresher course is designed for seafarers who need to renew their mandatory safety certifications in accordance with the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW). This comprehensive refresher covers four essential modules: Basic Safety Training (BST) Refresher, Advanced Fire Fighting (AFF) Refresher, Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats (PSCRB) Refresher, and Proficiency in Fast Rescue Boats (PFRB) Refresher. The training is approved by the national flagstate and ensures that all participants meet the latest international maritime safety standards.
Our refresher training is required every five years for all seafarers with designated safety or pollution-prevention duties, including deck and engine crew, stewards, officers, and operational staff. The Advanced Fire Fighting component is specifically aimed at officers and crew with direct responsibility for fire fighting operations, while the PSCRB and PFRB modules are essential for those assigned to operate survival craft or fast rescue boats. Each module focuses on practical skills, ensuring participants are fully prepared to respond to emergencies at sea.
To enroll, participants must present a valid ID or passport, medical certificate, seafarer’s book, and proof of previous STCW certification for BST, AFF, PSCRB, and PFRB. Eligibility for the refresher is based on holding a valid Certificate of Competency (CoC) or demonstrating sufficient recent sea service. Upon successful completion, a new certificate valid for five years is issued, with the validity period calculated from the expiry date of the previous certificate. All documentation must be verified by our customer support team prior to enrollment to ensure compliance with STCW requirements.
