Escape Chute Training is designed specifically for personnel working in the offshore oil and gas industry, particularly those operating in the North Sea and on platforms in Norwegian waters. This course provides essential instruction in the use of escape chutes for emergency evacuation from offshore installations and vessels. The training is conducted in accordance with the guidelines of Norsk olje og gass (The Norwegian Oil & Gas Association), ensuring compliance with industry standards for safety and evacuation procedures.
This certification is a requirement for certain offshore platforms in Norwegian waters and is typically included when completing the Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET), Further Offshore Emergency Training (FOET), NOGEPA 0.5A Basic Offshore Safety, or NOGEPA 0.5B Basic Offshore Safety Training courses in the Netherlands or France. It is important to note that Escape Chute Training should not be confused with S-Cape training, as they are separate certifications.
Upon successful completion, participants receive an FMTC certificate in accordance with Norsk olje og gass guidelines. There is no window period for refresher training for this certificate. Delegates are required to bring their own personal protective equipment (PPE) and a valid government-issued photographic identification to the training center.
