More information about STCW BST & PSCRB Initial

We offer the STCW BST & PSCRB course, which combines the internationally recognized STCW Basic Safety Training and STCW Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats (other than Fast Rescue Boats). This training is essential for all seafarers who are employed or engaged in any capacity on board seagoing vessels, including offshore support vessels, and who have designated safety or pollution-prevention duties. The course is fully approved by the national flagstate and meets the requirements set out in the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW).

Our STCW Basic Safety Training (BST) is mandatory for all crew members and covers the fundamental skills needed to respond to onboard emergencies, including survival, firefighting, first aid, and safety awareness. The Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats (PSCRB) component is designed for those assigned to operate or take charge of lifeboats and rescue boats, excluding fast rescue boats. This is especially relevant for deck officers and ratings who may be part of the lifeboat or rescue boat crew during emergencies.

Certification for both modules is valid for five years. Refresher training is required every five years to maintain compliance, with a focus on practical skills and recent experience in drills or rescue operations. Participants must bring a valid ID or passport, medical certificate, swimming gear, and seafarer’s book. The training includes practical assessments and, upon successful completion, participants receive STCW-compliant certificates recognized internationally.
