More information about STCW BST & AFF & PSCRB Initial

Our STCW BST & AFF & PSCRB course package is designed to meet the stringent requirements of the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW). This comprehensive training is essential for seafarers who need to comply with international safety and emergency response standards. The course is approved by the national flagstate, ensuring global recognition and acceptance for those working on seagoing vessels, including offshore support vessels.

The STCW Basic Safety Training (BST) is mandatory for all crew members with designated safety or pollution-prevention duties. It covers fundamental skills in survival, firefighting, first aid, and shipboard safety awareness. The Advanced Fire Fighting (AFF) module is intended for officers and crew who are responsible for leading or coordinating firefighting operations on board. The Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats (PSCRB) component is required for those assigned to operate or take charge of lifeboats and rescue boats, excluding fast rescue boats. Each module is structured to provide both theoretical knowledge and practical skills through hands-on exercises and assessments.

Upon successful completion of all modules, participants receive internationally recognized STCW certificates, each valid for five years. Refresher training is required every five years to maintain certification, with practical assessments forming a key part of the revalidation process. To participate, attendees must bring a valid ID or passport, a medical certificate, appropriate swimming gear, and their seafarer’s book. Our training ensures that seafarers are fully prepared to respond effectively to emergencies at sea, in line with the latest STCW standards.
