Our NOGEPA 0.5A Offshore Safety Introduction and Emergency Response Training is an essential three-day training for anyone planning to work on offshore installations in the oil and gas industry, particularly in the North Sea. This comprehensive program is designed to provide participants with the knowledge and practical skills needed to recognize hazards, respond effectively to emergencies, and ensure personal and team safety while working offshore. The course covers critical areas such as First Aid, fire fighting, helicopter safety, and sea survival, ensuring that delegates are well-prepared for the unique challenges of offshore environments.
The NOGEPA 0.5A Offshore Safety Introduction and Emergency Response Training certificate is valid for four years and is a mandatory requirement for offshore workers. Since July 1, 2020, the training includes the CA-EBS (Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System) module, which is now standard for all Dutch and English helicopters operating in the North Sea sector. Delegates must hold a valid CA-EBS certificate to travel by helicopter if this system is installed. Practical CA-EBS training in shallow water is included for those with the appropriate offshore medical certification, while dry training is provided for others without affecting certification status. The course also features theoretical and practical modules on Safety Introduction, Helicopter travel, Sea Survival, First Aid, and Fire Fighting.
In the Netherlands and France, the training includes certification for the Escape Chute and Norwegian suit. There is a mutual agreement between NOGEPA and OPITO, allowing delegates to book the BOSIET with CA-EBS course together with this training. Participants are required to bring valid government-issued photo identification, an extra set of dry clothes and a towel, a personal safety logbook if available, and a valid offshore medical certificate for shallow water CA-EBS exercises.
