HAZWOPER stands for Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response and this comprehensive 40-hour course is designed for employees who may serve as emergency responders, hazardous materials technicians, or incident commanders, particularly those expected to take an offensive role in hazardous substance emergencies. Our training is ideal for personnel in industrial, manufacturing, chemical, and emergency response settings who require advanced skills in hazardous materials handling, incident command, and emergency response procedures.

HAZWOPER Technician Level
Our HAZWOPER Specialist Level – Day 1-5 (40 Hour) course is designed for employees who may serve as emergency responders during hazardous substance incidents and are expected to take offensive action to control or stop a release. This comprehensive training program provides participants with the knowledge and skills required by OSHA under 29 CFR 1910.120(q), ensuring they are fully prepared to act as competent HAZMAT Specialists in real-world situations.
Throughout the course, delegates receive formal classroom instruction covering the essential requirements and competencies needed for the HAZMAT Specialist level. The curriculum emphasizes the critical responsibilities of hazardous materials technicians, including the use of the incident command system, development and implementation of emergency response plans, and understanding medical surveillance and decontamination procedures. Participants will also learn about hazard and risk assessment techniques, material identification and classification, air monitoring, containment strategies, and the safe handling of drums and containers.
Our training not only prepares individuals for their roles but also ensures they can demonstrate their skills and knowledge through both practical and written examinations. The course highlights the importance of effective communication with news media agencies during facility incidents and provides a clear understanding of the duties and responsibilities of the Incident Commander and other emergency response personnel. Upon successful completion, participants will be certified as HAZMAT Specialists, equipped with the formal skills necessary to respond confidently and competently to hazardous materials emergencies.
