Our GWO Working at Heights Refresher + R-Alf training is designed for professionals working or planning to work in the wind energy sector, especially those involved in the maintenance and installation of wind turbines where working at height is a daily reality. This course serves as the mandatory refresher for the GWO Working at Height certification, which is required to be renewed every two years to ensure ongoing competency and compliance with safety standards in the industry.
During the training, participants will revisit essential safety principles and practical skills for working at height, with a focus on wind turbine environments. The course also includes a specialized module on the use of the ISC R-Alf rescue device, which is equipped with an over-speed brake for controlled hoisting and lowering during rescue operations. This additional module provides hands-on experience in using the R-Alf for both self-rescue and the evacuation of colleagues, although it is important to note that the R-Alf module is not GWO approved.
Upon successful completion of the GWO Working at Heights Refresher + R-Alf course, delegates will be able to identify and mitigate risks associated with working at height, perform rescue procedures, and use personal protective equipment (PPE) and rescue devices effectively. The refresher ensures that all participants remain compliant with industry regulations and maintain the practical skills required to keep themselves and their colleagues safe while working in challenging wind turbine environments.
