Course Joining Instructions

Everything you need to know before your training at FMTC Safety starts.

Registration & Arrival

Delegates are expected to arrive 15 minutes before the course start time, as indicated in the booking confirmation. Late arrivals may be required to make up missed time, which could result in additional charges. Please bring your Personal Safety Logbook and/or Seaman’s Book for updates upon successful course completion.

Certificates will be uploaded to your personal WINDA profile after course completion.

Clothing & Equipment

All required protective clothing, towels, and equipment will be provided by the training center depending on the training center location. Please refer to your booking confirmation for any specific items you may need to bring.

Physical Requirements

Courses may include physically demanding components. It is the employer’s responsibility to ensure delegates hold a valid medical examination certificate, where required. Delegates must also sign a medical fitness declaration form prior to participation. FMTC can arrange medical and offshore maritime examinations upon request.

Some courses require a medical examination not only for participation but also as a prerequisite for offshore deployment, depending on project and client requirements. Medicals can be booked directly during the course registration process, and we will schedule the exam as efficiently as possible in coordination with your training dates.

CA-EBS In-Water Practical (OPITO)

For CA-EBS in-water training, participants must:

  1. Hold a valid OGUK (or recognized equivalent) offshore medical certificate.
  2. Possess a certificate of fitness for shallow water CA-EBS training issued by an OGUK-registered doctor.
  3. Declare no current or past medical conditions that would make them unfit to participate.

Important: Delegates not meeting these requirements may not participate in the CA-EBS practical exercises.

If a delegate has special needs related to language, medical conditions, physical ability, religion, or culture, these must be indicated on the booking form. FMTC will take appropriate action to support these requests. If a translator is required, costs may apply and will be confirmed with the employer.

Courses are conducted in English. Delegates must be able to read and understand English. If not, an interpreter may be arranged at an additional cost.
